
Birth & Education
Palliyadi, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu is the birth place of Marshal Nesamony, the father of Kanyakumari District. It was at Mooriankonam of here that Mr. Stalin Felix was born to the Tamil activist, Mr. Mathias and Mrs. Mariammal in on 16-11-1980.
He had graduated from St. Xavier’s Catholic Engineering College, Chunkankadai, Nagercoil with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and worked at a private software company in Chennai. Further, he had completed his masters in History and Business Administration as well. Due to his love for Tamil, Stalin Felix showed a lot of involvement towards his mother tongue and Tamil organisations even when he was in college.
He had an insatiable interest in Tamil arts, poetry and literature and he had won several prizes in competitions during his school and college days.
Thoughts & Works
Being a great thinker and a social activist, Stalin Felix extended his helping hand in fields such as education, medicine and blood donation both directly and also through his friends.
Stalin Felix, a Tamil nationalistic thinker’s deep involvement in the struggles for the freedom of the Eelam and his several articles against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant are proof that he was a social thinker in any situation.
During disasters such as the Kanyakumari tsunami, Thane, the Chennai floods and Ockhi, he had coordinated with his friends and helped those in need.
He was an ardent lover of reading. He took up a lot of readings and writings about Kanyakumari district especially the age old Travancore in his last days. Writing in the regional colloquial style was his speciality.
An eminent progressive and social thinker, he put forward progressive and Tamil language-oriented sentimental ideas in his speech and writing, and was firmly against the fundamentalist tendencies of caste and religion.
On the day before his demise, in the very last Valentine’s Day poem that he wrote
“Search in your own Home, the world’s noblest lovers could be there too,” he said
These are wonderful lines that break the traditional view of love. Law of nature has deceived itself by ignoring such an eminent personality.
Service Mindedness
After completing his collegiate education he was working at a private software company in Chennai. It was during this time that he started to get involved in Tamil intensely. Specifically, the students’ revolts that started in Tamil Nadu in 2009 due to the war of Eelam and the death of Muthukumar are worth mentioning. Stalin Felix was a part of this. Stalin Felix played a vital role in taking the movement ahead. Notably, due to the war of Eelam the ‘Save Tamil’ movement which was formed amongst the IT employees of many movements was an important one. Stalin Felix was a seed for the beginning of this. Today it has been renamed as ‘Ilanthamilaham’. Stalin Felix’s part in this movement’s going forward and shaping the actions are worth mentioning as important.
At the Workplace
Stalin Felix had gone to Germany for employment. He continued the Tamil service along with social service there as well. He had recorded his experiences, thoughts and Tamil feelings in the blog “Kaalaparavai” (http://stalinfelix.blogspot.com) that he created.


Social Work
- He had started a ‘job opportunities’ whatsapp group and was in touch with the HR personnel of leading companies. Due to that, several graduates got employed.
- When the people of Cuddalore were affected by the Thane cyclone, Stalin Felix helped them a lot.
As a Social Thinker
- He had written an article titled ‘The part of the youngster in the society’ as an alumnus of St. Xavier’s Catholic Engineering College in their NSS souvenir and won accolades from his professors.
- He had written an article titled ‘My views about growing children’ by posting it in an intellectual forum in his company for the employees and won the praises of many scholars.


Can that day be forgotten?
Born to serve many thousands, Stalin Felix reached his heavenly abode on 15-02-2019. When he was working in Germany, the 39 year old Stalin Felix passed away due to respiratory problems. The news of his death was published in newspapers. On behalf of the ‘Naam Tamilar’ party an obituary was released under the title ‘A good man – Felix’.

This was also the day that made many Tamil activists weep! His mortal remains were kept for several thousands to view. On 23-02-2019 Stalin Felix was buried in his native Periyavilai, Palliyadi, Kanyakumari District.
In honour of the memory of Stalin Felix, the Naam Tamilar Party has paid homage and named their Killiyoor Assembly Constituency head office near Karungal as “Kaalaaparavai Stalin Felix Kudil” and opened it by his father on 29-11-2020.
Family
Stalin, who considered the children of the downtrodden as his own is survived by his wife and three children. His wife is the one who stood by him through everything.
He had even christened his children, whom he loved with his life with Tamil names due to his everlasting love for Tamil.
